Regulation of reactive oxygen species during plant immunity through phosphorylation and ubiquitination of RBOHD

Lee et al.'s recent publication in Nature Communications describes the mechanism by which RBOHD is regulated by C-terminal phosphorylation and ubiquitination.  Read more.

Genome-wide association mapping reveals loci for shelf life and developmental rate of lettuce

This recent publication by Kandel et al. in Theoretical and Applied Genetics investigated the genetics affecting the shelf life of fresh-cut lettuce. The authors identified two major QTLs for shelf life, which will be useful in breeding lettuce with a longer shelf life. Read more

In-silico-generated library for sensitive detection of 2-dimethylaminoethylamine derivatized FAHFA lipids using high-resolution tandem mass spectrometry

In Analytical Chemistry, Ding et al. report on the construction of an in silico library containing 264 fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acid classes. Using the library and high-resolution LC-MS/MS resulted in the annotation of 19 2-dimethylaminoethylamine-fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acid from 16 families. The authors have made the library, spectra, and templates freely available. Read more.

A variety of changes, including CRISPR/Cas9-mediated deletions, in CENH3 lead to haploid induction on outcrossing

Kuppu et al.'s recent publication in the Plant Biotechnology Journal explains the characterization of 31 additional EMS-inducible amino acid substitutions related to haploid induction in Arabidopsis thaliana. The authors also report on the effects of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated in-frame deletions in the alphaN helix of the CENH3 histone fold domain. Read more.
