Assistant Professor Luis Carvajal-Carmona
We are very happy to have secured this funding. It will allow us to sequence the genomes of several families with gastric cancer that have been recruited and characterized by our international collaborative group. We hope to find new genes for this common cancer and in doing so, contribute to better prevention and clinical management of this malignancy.  This funding will also allow us to obtain enough preliminary data for much larger applications to the NIH and to continue with the training of one of our Postdoctoral Fellows. The full press release from No Stomach for Cancer is available online and this news was also featured on the GenomeWeb news site  â note that a (free) account is required to read stories on GenomeWeb.
