Job Posting: Assistant Project Scientist, Proteomics

The Genome Center at the University of California, Davis invites applications from qualified candidates for an Assistant Project Scientist position. This position is expected to work independently, making significant and creative contributions to collaborative research and method development in collaboration with the Director and clients of the Genome Center’s Proteomics Core Facility. Collaborators may include UC Davis faculty and staff, and off-campus scientists. Method development will be in multiple areas, including sample preparation, quantitative proteomics, mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography and data analysis. Examples of cutting edge proteomic methodologies may include quantitative proteomic profiling using TMT mass tags, data independent acquisition and targeted proteomic applications. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology, analytical chemistry or a related field, with at least one year experience with quantitative proteomics.  Preference will go to candidates with at least 2-3 years of experience with quantitative proteomics, 1-3 years of experience in an academic or industrial proteomics or a mass spectrometry core facility, and 3 years of experience using Thermo Scientific mass spectrometers.
