Virtually Attend These Metabolomics-related Events

You can still virtually attend metabolomics-related events, which are being hosted in order to facilitate scientific discussion and learning while maintaining social distancing.

  • The West Coast Metabolomics Center has switched its in-person lecturers to online lectures. On April 22, 2020 at 11 am PDT, the guest lecturer will be Titus Brown from UC Davis, who is an expert in data analysis and integration. Please register online here.

  • A women-led team of scientists, Baljit Ubhi, Arpana Vaniya (Metabolomics Core), Ivana Balzenovic, Christina Jones, and Alice Dalo (Metabolomics Core), all in the field of mass spectrometry based metabolomics is leading weekly Virtual Podiums each Friday. Virtual Podium was established to promote scientific discussion and engagement during a trying time in our global history.

The initiative was named Virtual Podium and the team of scientists is addressing the fact that COVID-19 has impacted many scientists by the cancellation of conferences and meetings. The women-led team created Virtual Podium to serve as a platform and opportunity to present and learn about compelling scientific research.

The format for Virtual Podium includes:

  • ~1-hour-long weekly sessions every Friday at 12 pm PDT. There are Q&A sessions at the end.
  • 10-min keynote talk
  • Nine 4-min-long lightning talks with one static slide

Learn more about this women-led team and register to attend here.
